From Sketch to Script: My Journey of Designing in Code and Cloth
From Sketch to Script: My Journey of Designing in Code and Cloth When I first learned to sketch, I thought the lines I drew were only meant to shape garments. Later, when I learned to code, I realized that lines of code could shape worlds. That’s when everything changed for me — when I began to see that fashion design and programming weren’t so different after all. Both start with an idea. Both demand patience. And both transform something invisible — imagination — into something real. As a fashion designer, I’ve spent hours draping fabric on mannequins, experimenting with textures and silhouettes. As a computer science student, I’ve spent just as many hours debugging, testing, and rewriting code. At first, these worlds felt miles apart. One was full of color, fabric, and emotion; the other, all logic, syntax, and structure. But the more I explored, the more I saw how similar they are. Designing a dress and writing a program follow the same creative rhythm. You start with a vision, build it piece by piece, and refine it until it flows perfectly. In fashion, you tailor fabric; in code, you tailor systems. Both require you to think, imagine, and construct with intention. One of my favorite moments was when I created a digital garment simulation — a design that existed only on-screen but moved as if it were alive. It was a blend of both worlds: artistic vision powered by technology. That’s when I knew Darmi Vault wasn’t just a fashion brand; it was a space for stories like mine — stories where creativity and computation meet. Fashion is no longer limited to what we wear. It’s also about how we experience, interact with, and even program our identities. Through every collection and every piece of code I write, I want to remind people that technology doesn’t replace artistry — it expands it. Every sketch I draw and every script I write brings me closer to this truth: creativity has no boundaries. Whether through fabric or functions, every creation begins the same way — with a spark, a story, and the courage to build something new. Welcome to Darmi Vault, where every design tells a story, and every line of code carries a heartbeat.
